'Clouds'

When I was young I remember writing a poem - I can't remember all the words exactly, but it went something like this:

The clouds drift lazily in the sky
birds roam freely in the sky
trees breathe the big, beautiful sky
what are they to do
if there is no sky?


I am no poet, but it is something I think of often as I see a beautiful sky with lovely fluffy clouds drifting along peacefully.

I thought i'd explore beyond my characteristic child-conception of clouds (i like to draw them with simply wiggley lines, you know the type ^_^). I spent some time marvelling at those floating by my town, and was utterly amazed at the shapes and colours and diversity they presented. So here's my interpretation, on black paper with acrylics.

I took this photo a long time ago, but really love it - I gave it to a friend to use as a CD cover, but with an orange sky, but it didn't come about...so am glad to use it here and share with you all (and it's kind of timely with the ekka having just finished!).
