Soul Knocking Challenge: CALENDAR!!

With 2009 rapidly approaching i thought i'd volunteer a new creative challenge... construct your own CALENDAR!

A friend of mine gives another friend a homemade calendar each year as a christmas present. Last year she made a collage calendar and bound the pages together with old shower-curtain rings. Gorgeous way to mark the time over the year and a fabulous gift! I thought we might get in on the action. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination...use cloth instead of paper, make your calendar on one big sheet of paper, make a tiny purse-size calendar, use different pages for each month, or maybe divide your dates by some other system. There's lots of resources and templates on the net, so it can take as much or as little time as you like :)

i'm giving us 2 and a 1/2 months to construct our calendars, so they're ready to start using in the new year... 1st Jan 2009.

Soul Knocking Challenge: DOLLS!!

New challenge!! ^_^

Not sure how your jigsaws are evolving, but thought i'd throw a new creative spanner in the works, keep us all on our artistic toes..

So our challenge?
A doll :)

It can be sewn or paper or plastic or clay...or from any other substance your heart desires...cake? ;)

...human or non-human, as small as the palm of your hand, or maybe life-size?? May our imaginations run wild and free with this one..

I'm giving us 3 months.. so the only requirements are that we craft a doll into existence and that he/she be born by the last day of October. Can't wait to see your pix!

If any of us should feel so inspired, we could post pix of our dolls under construction.. share the creative process..?

Soul Knocking Challenge: JIGSAW

We'd like to introduce a new creative venture, the 'Soul Knocking Challenge'. The idea is to give us a way to work on more elaborate creative projects, but with much more time to create. The challenges will come randomly, from whomever of us is inspired to post one. Just like our weekly Soul Knocking topics, the challenges can be anything, but they'd be the kind of project that might take more time to think about or make. We'll take up the challenge as an aside, in addition to our weekly posts. Because we're all busy bees, the time you allow for your challenge should be generous. Should any Soul Knocker be inspired to work on a particular topic or project, please set the challenge for the rest of us whenever an idea comes to you. Remember to give us all plenty of time, as we want to make sure we can fit it in with the other things in our lives. - Shell & Little Fox.

As the first Soul Knocking Challenge, I'll snail mail everyone a blank jigsaw. Decorate to your hearts content, dissemble it then snail mail to your designated Soul Knocker. We'll have 2 months for this challenge, so please finish your creations and send them on their way by 26 May. When you receive the jigsaw in your mailbox, enjoy assembling it, then post a picture of it on Soul Knocking. Make sure you add your jigsaw creator's name in the title of the post.
