Clouds by Shan

I took this photo a long time ago, but really love it - I gave it to a friend to use as a CD cover, but with an orange sky, but it didn't come about...so am glad to use it here and share with you all (and it's kind of timely with the ekka having just finished!).

Christmas Cheer - By Shan

Had a lovely Christmas this year with Jeremy's family - my first spent at the beach!
Woke up and went for a swim with their big tinsel-decorated dog Tura who won't swim but will bark at the water when you're in it...we then ate fantastic food and drank lots of champagne at his parent's fabulous beachy house. Ahh, bliss!

Teapots, tea & kettles - by Shan

As I started pondering teapots, tea & kettles, it got me thinking about a nice hot cup of tea and a biscuit...which led me to think about maybe a nice piece of cake instead...which led me to think about a completely decadent high-tea with cake and biscuits...mmmm, bliss! :)

Animal Friends - by Shan

We used to have guinea pigs living in a cage made out of an old bed that we moved around the back yard. My piggy was called Christina. She would come when I called her.
My brother and I would sit on the grass with our feet together and let her run around in the grass between our legs.

Still Life. By Shan.

Hmmm, haven't done a still-life in a while...thought it looked a little 'Dali-esque' by the end! Might have to come back to this subject to try again when I have more time.I love this clock though - it belonged to my Aunty Karen who died about 10 years ago.

Shan's happy memory

I spent many fun-filled hours of my childhood skating around the block with the rest of the kids in my street. Some nights, my brother and I would skate up to the top of the street to meet my mum on her scooter on her way home from work. She would let us hold onto the back of the scooter while she zoomed around the block - weeeeeeeeee!
My family wasn't very wealthy, so I had a pair of skates that were extendable, and worn with a pair of sneakers - they lasted me years!
(Boy, how I coveted my neighbour's sleek white skating boots though!)

Having fun - by Shan

Yay! First post!
And, well, it's a bit of a cheat really...this week I've spent much of my time organising surprises for my partner Jeremy's b'day :) & working alot :( ....plus, I'm away for the next few days...
So, I thought I would post some photos I took recently in anticipation of not having time to create something new.
I came back from a holiday in PNG a couple of weeks ago, and some of the sweetest memories I have are of the pikininis, and how little they have but how easily they laugh, and have fun.
From bomb-diving into creeks, to walking on coconut shells held to their feet with string, to rolling cans along the ground with a stick, to body-boarding on boards fashioned from wood, they constantly laugh and smile.
And, as soon as you produce a camera, it's all on for young and old, as you will see from my post.
Hope it makes you smile!
