The wonderful (and rather stylised) Phoenix. I remember reading a great book about the phoenix when I was little, I think I read it as part of the MS-Read-A-Thon. Also, in my high school our sports house was called phoenix. I love the magic and renewal in the myth, that once every 1,000 years after building a great pire, they are reborn of fire and new splendour.
