Photo your world!

We all live in different places, and each place is unique somehow.
I'd like to see the place where you live, captured in a photograph.
When you're next wandering around your neighbourhood, take a camera, and try to look at things a little differently.
Try to capture a photograph of your neighbourhood, that tells us something about the place, or the people who live there.
Enjoy!

'A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature' - Henry David Thoreau

This is a lake i visit often: tranquil, magic upon sunset, each day a different mood portrayed and a different scene painted on my mind's eye. Its an incredible place. Wherever we roam, even when it appears to be pristine wilderness, if one looks carefully the taint of human influence on the rest of the natural world comes into view (..look closely). Our influence is global and no corner of the earth is untouched. Together we hold immense capacity to realise a sustainable world, for we are human, and being human is an amazing thing to be. If only we could all cooperate once in a while?

Since I've not yet snapped my neighbourhood, I thought I'd share a piece of my world that I captured this week. I had a long wait between trains at a station between work and home. To fill the time I scribbled the scenery on a scrap of paper in my bag. I was really getting into it by the time my train came and found myself secretly disappointed that it was time to move on.
I'm looking forward to getting out into my hood with camera in hand...

I was liking the look of the abstract lines the power lines created....

And this one is taken outside my front gate looking down my street...
