'Journey'

I've given much thought to new journeys this week. I group I'm involved in were telling the stories of their pregnancies and births. The stories were touching, frightening, and left me reflecting that this is such a big journey they've chosen to embark on! My sister-in-law is about to start on the same journey with her new bub due any day now. Of course, 'tis also the start of the new year and a perfect time to reflect on our journeys, new and old. Where are you at? How have you got there? Where are you headed? On what journeys do your dreams pull you forward to? I can't wait to see your interpretations!

Going on a journey...

[On reflection, i've decided this pic' is not at all representative of a journey, nor my journey. I'd like to paint it again. Its missing so much. People, great and wonderful minds, friendship, family, a past full of experiences, connectivity... No persons' road is an empty path. Limits on time curbed me drawing in all these important details. Perhaps, i'd like to suggest looking at this pic' to be an imaginative exercise - rather than tell you what to see, i'll ask you to imagine all the wonders that could fill the 'open spaces'..]

In honour of the journey that my brother- and sister-in-law are about to embark on, this is the front of their congratulations card that I made this weekend. I haven't finished the pic of the new bub yet, as we don't know if it's a boy or girl. She had a twinge of a contraction last night, but it turned out to be a false alarm. Any day now we'll have a new member of the family! It will probably be a few years yet til Luke and I plan for new little members of our own family, so for now I'm content to be a doting auntie.
