ahh, Shell! This one is magic! Fantastical and i love it! The impression of joy, excitement and silhouette are wonderfully captured through your window and woman looking out. Its paper cut-out? How did you do the sky in the background.. is it real sky or a picture transposed behind? Truely wonderful my sista!
yeeee! thank u all ^_^ i'm wearing a big smile from all these comments!
i had lots of fun creating it and really like how it turned out. it's kind of like my shadows pic and i'll definitely keep experimenting with this technique.
my recipe was... firstly make the drawing with pencil. i had the cutting in mind from the outset, so that helped me draw it to create the final silhouette. then i got a stanley knife and started cutting. it was super sharp, so made it easier to do fine work. i used my moleskin art book, the paper is thicker so more likely to stay in tact during and after all the cutting. when i'd finished, i held it up to our window so it looked like there was sky outside and snapped a photo. that's it :)
