Photo my world! By Shan

I was liking the look of the abstract lines the power lines created....

And this one is taken outside my front gate looking down my street...

i'm inspired by your composition, and the way you capture emotion through the lens (and certainly evoke emotion in the viewer). I particularly like how it was a stormy day when you took the powerline pic', because the mood seems somewhat still and industrial, almost a contrast. I love your sunrise/set pic' too! There's such movement and joy in it, yet peace and serenity. I can imagine its a Sunday arvy, having a nice cold drink as you wind out the w/e (or maybe its dawn, welcoming in the new day!)

i'm glad i scrolled down to discover these shan! i agree with deb, you sure have a talent for photography. your images are wonderful, they add so much interpretation to a reality so easily missed by a glance up at a powerline or down a suburban street. i love the grainy feel of your powerlines, the contrast in the image, the strong solid lines, and the composition and angle you've chosen. the colours in your streetscape evoke for me too the slow feeling of a summer afternoon. the way you've contrasted the sharp focus on the palm and the soft focus on the cars and urban sprall makes me forget you're on a busy street and somehow calms the image.
