I am who I am because of... my travels to Africa

I had the unique experience of being sent solo to boarding school in the heart of Africa at the impressionable age of 15 years and 11 months. The impact of my two years there has rippled into my life from that point on, quietly and secretly at first and now boldly and proudly.

shell, this is truly an inspired pic', and the magic and emotion flows out so beautifully from the page. I love the expression and posture of you as a young girl, nervous yet composed, with a sense of adventure. I love the way she's so tiny on a giant suitcase, giving the perspective she's heading out into the big wide world. The shadows and colours are artfully done. The background is like a veil, hiding secrets, stories and memories, and the way little fragments of Africa and the young you peak through in text is so creative. This is wonderful, and i'm sure healing too, plus provoking thoughts that inspire new adventure soon to come!!
